COVID-19 FOOD RELIEF

As a response to the pandemic, in June 2020, growingSOUL created
The growingSOUL Collaborative, a community-based network
in Queens, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Long Island.
This Collaborative focuses on feeding those most impacted
by Covid-19 and those living in the initial epicenter of the virus
and its economic fallout. There are currently an estimated

1.5 million people in NYC who are food insecure,
not knowing where their next meal will come from.

As part of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, the USDA exercised authority under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to purchase and distribute agricultural products to those in need.

The USDA partnered with national, regional and local distributors, whose workforces have been significantly impacted by the closure of restaurants, hotels and other food service businesses, to purchase up to $4.5 billion in fresh produce, dairy, and meat products from American producers of all sizes.

Upon completion of the USDA food program Dec 31, growingSOUL seeks to replicate our food distribution program. We are actively looking for donations to allow us to continue feeding our neighbors in need.

We are asking individuals, companies & organizations to contribute to these efforts.  The needs of the community are becoming greater by the day.

We will adapt the program and quantity of trucks according to available funding. The vendors we worked with under the USDA program will continue to supply us

growingSOUL is a non-profit and all donations are eligible for tax deductions.
